*Proper drugs dilution and mixing
*Accurate dosage calculations. i.e avoiding under dose and overdose usage of drugs.

Ensure that the birds are in good condition
Give medication at cool hours of the day
Check the medication expiry dates
Let qualified personnel administer the medication

First of all you must have knowledge about the medicine you are going to use like;
What is the dose of medicine?
What is the route of administration of medicine?
Correct dose calculation for example if medicine dose is calculated as per live body weight of the bird then there must be exact body weight sheets of the birds present in the house.

Measures to Prevent Medication Errors Include:
Double-check dosing of medications, especially high-alert medications. Clarify drug, dosage, frequency and other details with the pharmacist or prescribing healthcare provider if there is any uncertainty. Recheck calculations; perform double-checks when necessary.
-
The “Five Rights” of Medication Administration: Always verify the right drug, right patient (flock or group), right dose, right route, and right time before administration. This fundamental principle reduces most errors. The “Five Rights” of Medication Administration: Always verify the right drug, right patient (flock or group), right dose, right route, and right time before administration. To prevent medication errors during administration in poultry farms, several measures are typically implemented:- Proper staff training on dosages, handling, and administration techniques.
- Clear labeling of all medications with usage instructions and expiry dates.
- Standard operating procedures (SOPs) for mixing and administering drugs via water, feed, or injection.
- Double-checking calculations for dosage based on flock size and weight.
- Use of calibrated equipment (e.g., syringes, dosing pumps) to ensure accurate delivery.
- Record-keeping to track what was administered, when, and to which flock.
These practices help ensure safety, effectiveness, and compliance with withdrawal times.Comment/Reply:

Encouraging error reporting, standardized communication systems, electronic data and order entry, medication reconciliations, and error prevention clinicalen.

To prevent errors during drug administration, the authorities have taken several measures. These include ensuring the correct dosage and frequency of drugs, controlling the quality of drug labeling and packaging, and conducting training and awareness programs for health workers. In addition, adverse drug reactions are monitored and analyzed through pharmacovigilance (drug safety) activities, which helps prevent errors in the future.
