The major purpose of soy analysis is to determine the nutritional composition and quality of soybeans and soy-based products. This is crucial for:
1. Animal feed formulation: especially in poultry and livestock farming, to ensure the right levels of protein, amino acids (like lysine and methionine), and energy.
2. Food industry quality control: ensuring consistency in protein, fat, fiber, and moisture levels in human food products.
3. Nutritional labelling: for accurate labeling of processed soy products.
4. Detecting anti-nutritional factors: like trypsin inhibitors, which can reduce protein digestibility.
5. Verifying GMO content: in regions where GMO labeling or restrictions are required.
