1. Understand Temperature Requirements
Chicks (0-3 weeks): Require 85-95°F (29-35°C) initially, decreasing by about 5°F (2-3°C) per week as they grow feathers.Growers (3-6 weeks): 70-80°F (21-27°C).
Adult birds: 65-75°F (18-24°C) is typically ideal for layers or broilers, though this varies by breed and purpose (e.g., egg production vs. meat).Monitor bird behavior: Panting indicates overheating; huddling suggests they’re too cold.
2. Insulate the Poultry House. use materials like wood, concrete blocks, or insulated panels for walls and roofs to reduce heat loss in winter or heat gain in summer.Seal gaps and cracks to prevent drafts, but ensure proper ventilation (more on that below).
3. Heating Systems brooders: For young chicks, use heat lamps, gas brooders, or electric heaters. Position them to create a warm zone without overheating the entire house.Space Heaters: For larger flocks or colder climates, install propane or electric heaters with thermostats for consistent temperature control.

1. Proper brooding set up (for chicks)
2. Ventilation Management
3. Controlling heat stress (during hot weather)
4. Preventing cold stress (during cold weather)

Implement a combination of cooling and ventilation methods, including tunnel ventilation, evaporative cooling, and shading, while also anticipating temperature changes and having an emergency plan in place.

Curtain management, install fan inside, roof should be covered

This is crucial for regulating temperature and removing excess moisture and carbon dioxide from the poultry house, Use reliable thermometers to constantly monitor the temperature inside the house and adjust ventilation accordingly.

To maintain poultry house temperature, you have to use brooders or heaters in cold weather, ventilation and cooling systems in hot weather, monitoring bird behavior, and adjusting insulation, stocking density, and water availability accordingly.<div>
