There are many environmental advantages of tunnel ventilation. Barns with tunnel ventilation are normally equipped with computer-controlled fans, temperature sensors, cooling panels, and other technologies that control temperate and air speed inside the barn. The main issue with issue with tunnel ventilation systems is their dependency on electricity and the need to have a backup generator for when the electrical grid fails. The initial cost of installation is high. Compared to natural ventilation, the higher operational cost should be compensated with better poultry performance.
