It’s very important to routinely repeat ND vaccine for breeder birds for number of reasons.
It helps to improve the protection of the birds against ND and also allow the maternal antibodies been passed down to the chicks to be very high.
It improve egg production and number of settable eggs as a bird low in ND titer will lay wrinkled eggs, shelless eggs and misshaped eggs and these are economic loss to the breeder farm as every available eggs should be able to turn to chick which is the motive.
ND and/or IB vaccination can help to prolong the peak period of lay and prevent false layers in breeders especially the broiler breeder.
On the final note, make sure you do sero-monitoring before you vaccinate and always check the type of ND vaccine you are using so that you wont be introducing new strain of virus to your farm in the name of vaccinating your birds.
