    Vaccination for layers

    Day old: Marek’s vaccine

Day 7 and 21: Newcastle vaccine

Day 14 and 28: Gumboro vaccine

    Week 6-8: Fowl pox vaccine

Week 14 and 16: Egg Drop Syndrome. Before birds starts to lay. Best at 14 to 15 wks because some birds starts to lay at wk 16 when properly managed

    Note:

    Debeak birds at week 10

Deworm birds at week 9 and 15

Layer birds in lay should be given Newcastle vaccine on monthly basis

Vaccination is not an absolute protection against disease

Deworming should be done at interval, maybe 2 or 3 months. Though it may have impact on their lay a little but it’s good to do it

    1. Newcastle Disease (ND) and Infectious Bronchitis (IB):

Age: 3–4 weeks old (booster at 6–8 weeks if needed)

Type: Live vaccine (e.g., via eye drops, drinking water, or spray)

Purpose: Protects against respiratory issues and viral outbreaks.

    2. Infectious Bursal Disease (IBD/Gumboro):

Age: 2–4 weeks (booster may be needed at 5–6 weeks, depending on farm history)

    Type: Live vaccine

Purpose: Prevents immune suppression caused by Gumboro disease.

    3. Marek’s Disease:

Age: Usually administered on day 1 (can be skipped for older chicks if done at hatchery).

Purpose: Protects against tumors caused by Marek’s virus.

    4. Fowlpox:

    Age: 6–8 weeks

Type: Live vaccine (via wing web prick method)

Purpose: Prevents fowlpox, which causes skin lesions and reduced productivity.

    5. Avian Encephalomyelitis (AE):

    Age: 4–6 weeks

    Type: Live vaccine

Purpose: Protects against nervous system disease affecting growth and productivity.

    6. Coryza (Optional in high-risk areas):

    Age: 4–6 weeks

    Type: Killed vaccine

Purpose: Protects against respiratory disease caused by Avibacterium paragallinarum.
