Dr. Ahmed Dorgham, Doctor Researcher, Central Laboratory for Aquaculture Research, Egypt
Dr. Ahmed Dorgham’s journey through Egypt’s aquaculture sector reflects the power of education to create lasting impact. A Doctor Researcher at the Central Laboratory for Aquaculture Research, he has paired academic rigor with practical application, supported by his long-standing engagement with the Soy Excellence Center.
Dr. Ahmed joined SEC MENA in 2019 while pursuing his PhD in Fish Biology and Aquaculture. Through SEC’s specialized programs, he strengthened his technical expertise in fish nutrition, water quality management, and sustainable production systems, while building connections with a global network of researchers and practitioners.
Today, he applies these insights to improve feed formulation, promote responsible farming practices, and support aquaculture development across Egypt and North Africa. His commitment to giving back led to his role as a trainer for fish farmers, where he helps translate science into action.
Having participated in more than 95 percent of SEC MENA offerings, Dr. Ahmed was recognized in April 2025 with the SEC STAR Award, honoring his dedication to leadership, learning, and meaningful industry progress.

That is the kind of trajectory that justifies the existence of these centers: someone who starts as a student, becomes a multiplier, and keeps learning. Congratulations to Dr. Dorgham for his dedication and to the team that knew how to keep him engaged.
